Thiago Bonás is a Partner at Ore Investments and leads the firm’s technical strategy across its portfolio. He is responsible for overseeing all technical due diligence processes, resource evaluations, and operational reviews, supporting both the investment team and the management of portfolio companies. Thiago also represents Ore on Boards of Directors as well as Technical and ESG Committees, ensuring that the firm upholds the highest mining and environmental standards across its assets.
A seasoned professional, Thiago has worked across a broad range of commodities including gold, phosphate, iron ore, and base metals. Prior to Ore, he held senior technical roles at Aguia Resources and Troilus Gold, and previously served in leadership positions at Forbes & Manhattan Group, SRK Consulting, and Gemcom Software. He also began his career as a mine geologist at Bunge Fertilizers. Thiago has executed and audited mineral resource estimates under NI 43-101 and JORC codes across South America, Canada, and Europe, and has deep expertise in QA/QC program implementation and 3D geostatistical modeling.
Thiago holds a B.Sc. in Geology and an M.Sc. in Mineral Resources (Applied Geostatistics and Environment) from the University of São Paulo (USP). He is a Qualified Person registered with the Brazilian Commission for Resources and Reserves (CBRR) and a member of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC). Fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English, he brings a rigorous technical foundation and deep operational insight to Ore’s investment process and portfolio oversight.
