Alexandre Pimenta is Director of Engineering at Ore Investments, where he leads technical assessments and engineering due diligence across potential investments. He also plays a key operational role within the firm’s portfolio, serving on Technical and Operational Committees and acting in the management of portfolio companies, including as CEO of Ativa Titânio e Vanádio, one of Ore’s current portfolio companies. Alexandre brings deep expertise in engineering execution, project evaluation, and large-scale operational management, with a long career in the mining and metals industry.
Prior to joining Ore, Alexandre held senior leadership roles at Gerdau, Mineração Morro do Ipê, Alcoa, and Samarco, where he led major capital projects. His background includes management of industrial maintenance and engineering teams, implementation of turnaround strategies, and development of new project governance and operational frameworks. At Morro do Ipê, he served as Construction Manager for Tico-Tico project, and at Gerdau, led both regional mining projects and the high-profile Itabiritos development.
Alexandre holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from UFMG, an M.Sc. in Business Administration from PUC Minas, and a postgraduate specialization in business management from Fundação Dom Cabral. He is a CREA-licensed professional and is fluent in Portuguese and English. His cross-functional leadership and technical execution capabilities make him a key contributor to Ore’s investment process and value creation across portfolio companies.
